Ahead of the November 6th, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, the All Progressive Grand Alliance, has declared the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as winner of it party’s primary.
The primary election which took place at the Prof. Dora Akuyelli Women Development Center Awka, Anambra State capital, saw Prof. Soludo clinched the ticket by scoring 740 out of the 792 votes cast.
Prof. Soludo was distantly followed by Honourable Okwudili Ezenwankwo, who polled 41 votes.
Chief Damian Okolo came third with 7 votes. While ThankGod Ibeh came with 4 votes.
Chairman of the electoral panel and Vice Chairman South-West, Deacon Sampson Olarere, commended the resilience of the aspirants saying each one of them is capable of winning the November 6, general election but was only necessary that the best be chosen.
Among those who monitored the election were, representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, led by Musa Husubu, and members of the security agents.
Prof. Soludo is from Anambra South Senatorial District, and he awaits the results of other major parties, to know who among them he will contest with in the November 6 Anambra governorship election.
