Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Ifeanyi Ubah, will be contesting in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra state.
On Thursday, the businessman turned politician emerged as the candidate of the Young Progressives Party for the election.
Mr. Uba has been the face of the YPP in the south east, a party he stood on to become a senator in 2019.
He has remained optimistic that the worsening insecurity in the south east will be resolved before the election in November.
Senator Ubah said the current insecurity in the region would not affect the conduct of the polls and that his party would emerge victorious.
He denied responsibility for the crisis rocking the two major parties in the state; the APGA and PDP.
He also absolved his party of having a hand in any form of crisis in any part of the region.
Senator Ubah was a member of APGA where he was instrumental to the party’s victory during the governorship election four years ago.
He fell out with the party’s leadership when he was disqualified from contesting in the senatorial primary ahead of the 2019 general election.
