Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, are in Ibadan, capital of Oyo state for a crucial meeting.
This meeting is coming barely one week after governor of the southern states met in Delta state capital of Asaba.
Diverse reactions have trailed this meeting from all parts of the country.
The PDP governors’ meeting is the second to take place outside Abuja. The first was held in Makurdi, Benue State a few weeks ago.
The Ibadan meeting presided over by the PDP Governors Forum Chairman and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, is among other issues, deliberating on the state of the nation, particularly national security and the economy.
Though specific issues are still unknown, there are thoughts that it may not be far from the rising tension in the land and how the party can take advantage of the period to reposition itself in the polity.
Governor Tambuwal while declaring the meeting open, thanked Governor Ortom for hosting the first meeting of the Forum outside Abuja.
He also appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for hosting the second meeting and commended members of the forum for attending.
