The three senators from Abia state, Uche Chukwumerije, Abia North, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Abia South and Nkechi Nwaogu, Abia central have stated emphatically that no congress took place anywhere in the state.
In a release also signed by other aspirants like the former Minister of Labour, Emeka Nwogu and Acho Nwakanma, the trio demand for another election as scheduled by the constitution of the party be held as soon as possible within the time line of the 2015 electoral schedule of the PDP.
According to them, “the charade that took place in Abia had absolutely no remedial features. It is a shameless caricature of democracy, a cruel stab on PDP’s legacy of internal democracy and a crude mockery of our great party’s assurance of a level playing ground.”
“The gross aberration of yesterday is unprecedented in executive impunity and the ultimate in anti-democracy conspiracy and fascist fraud.”
However, Chairman of the congress panel, Ceaser Okeke has denied that congress did not hold in the state, saying that those complaining did not understand the centres for the exercise.
