The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has received the handover notes detailing the activities of the outgoing administration from President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
In his remarks at the occasion, the outgoing President reviewed the activities of his administration in all areas of governance namely, the economy, security, foreign policy, corruption and oil and gas, among others.
According to President Jonathan, “as we handover the reins of government, I believe that our nation is secure, our democracy is stable and the future is bright”.
In his response, the President-elect thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanship and commitment to democracy.
He reiterated that the historic phone call made by the outgoing President, changed the course of the country’s history and earned him a place in the heart of every Nigerian.
He commended him for making the handover notes as well as the report of the 2014 National Conference available to him promising to study both documents carefully.
