There are indications that the plot to remove the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega will be taken a step further on Wednesday when some Resident Electoral
Commissioners are expected to move a vote of no confidence against Prof. Jega.
INEC leadership is scheduled to meet with the Resident Electoral Commissioners to assess the progress made in the distribution of the PVC within the window created by the extension.
The meeting will also be briefed on the situation in communities recaptured from the insurgents.
It is expected that the Wednesday meeting will be stormy as there are some top INEC officials who have confidence in the leadership of Prof. Jega and will challenge any move to use the meeting to destabilise the Chairman.
