The federal government have been urged to put in place adequate machinery that will affect the uniformity in the duration of residency training in institutions across the country which had been allegedly affecting the quality of the programme.
This is one of the observations of the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) at the end of its National executive council meeting held over the weekend in owerri, the imo state capital.
The body also noted and reacted to what they described as the unfair treatment and sack of its members and nonpayment of salaries by various medical centers across the country.
The body at the end of their deliberations resolved that “the federal government should provide an enabling environment for resident doctors to continue to provide medical services in hospitals across the country despite the ongoing strike by the allied health workers.
