Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University College Hospital has appealed to the management of the hospital  to implement the directive of the Federal Government through the head of service of the federation to skipping and casualisation of medical doctors.

The President of the Association, Dr Opeoluwa Ogunjimi who addressed press men on Tuesday, said that they were eager to resume work should the Hospital management honour the circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation on doctors’ welfare.

Dr. Ogunjimi also called on the public to prevail on government agencies and the Chief Medical Director, Prof Temitope Alonge, to ensure that justice was done.

“We have engaged the management for more than seven months on this issue. The management claimed that they have a directive from the Federal Ministry of Health and they have not been able to show the circular. We have told them that the Federal Government has issued it. Now, it is not the problem of the Federal Government has directed them to do it. it is now left for them to do,” he said.

However, Dr. Ogunjinmi hinted that the association are still rendering skeletal services, especially in the Intensive Care and Special Care, adding that the strike was not to attack people, but to ensure adequate delivery of service to people.
