Gunmen in the early hours of Monday razed the Zone 13 Police headquarter in Ukpo, Anambra state.
It was gathered that the gunmen struck around 4am and killed 2 police officers during the operation.
However, the hoodlums were prevented from entering the Police armoury.
This recent attack on another police headquarter in the South-East has added to the growing security tension in the region.
On April 5, gunmen attacked the police headquarters and the correctional centre in Owerri, Imo State, burning 38 vehicles and freeing 1,844 inmates.
On his visit to Owerri after the incident, former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, directed the force to apply whatever it will take to bring the worsening insecurity under control.
Incidentally, Mr. Abubakar was relieved of his duty even before he left the Imo state capital.
