The Anambra State Police command has confirmed the attacks on the B-Division of the command.
It was erroneously reported in some quarters that the V-division was attacked.
The incident took place in the very early hours of Monday.
Some people who were close to the scene say the gunmen arrived in more than four Hi-lux vans and over a dozen heavily armed gunmen.
The headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Anambra state was also touched.
Reports say that unconfirmed number of police officers were killed in the twin attacks.
Currently the two facilities have been cordoned off by security operatives as journalists are waiting for the Commissioner of Police briefing on the incident.
INEC and police facilities have been under attacks in recent times, where security operatives have been most casualties in the incidents.
