Abia state police command has read out a riot act for all criminals in the state, saying the command will make life unbearable for them should they continue to disturb the peace of the citizenry.
The police Commissioner in the state, Mr. Adamu Ibrahim while parading some crime suspects arrested recently by his men at the police headquarters in Umuahia said there are indications that some criminals from some neighbouring states were infiltrating the state and warned them to flee or face the wrath of the law.
He said the command was working tirelessly to ensure that the citizens of the state have a crime free Christmas and new year celebrations and solicited the support of the public in the area of provision of information to the police.
The Commissioner also warned political thugs who would want to fomwnt trouble during the general elections to be desist from violence, saying the police will spare no one caught in the act.
One of the suspects paraded include one Kalu Okoro Ogba form Ohafia who allegedly assassinated his girlfriend and buried her in a shallow grave in Ohafia area of Abia state.
He told newsmen in an interview that he mistakenly slit the throat of her late girlfriend when he wanted to just stab her over an argument they about the girl’s new suitor.
Others include one Chinaecherem Noah Mgbaraonye for conspiring to eliminate someone before their plan was foiled by the police who busted them as well as couple for planning to sell a nine year old boy to a ready.
Items recovered include, locally made rifles, masks, machetes, etc
