Unknown number of gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra have been killed in Orlu, Imo state.
The gang were reported to be on their way to attack the police station in the town when they ran into the waiting fire of a combined force of the army and the police.
No official information has been released but residents of Orlu had reported extensive gunfire in the town on Thursday. IPOB has also not accepted nor denied that those killed are their members.
Imo state has been the theatre of attacks by unknown gunmen on security facilities going on in the south eastern part of the country.
