Residents of Bwari area council, on the outskirts of Abuja, around the Nigerian Law school and Veritas University, are now sleeping with both eyes wide open.
This council is at the boundry between the federal capital and Niger state.
Staff of the University were today asked to stay away from the school after students were ordered to vacate halls of residence.
Earlier, intruders were arrested within the university established by the Catholic Church and since then the school officials have gotten text message threatening their safety.
Reports indicate bandits have struck several times in neighborhoods near both institutions and abducted several persons.
Last week, governor of Niger state, Abubakar Sani Bello, lamented that bandits have taken over some communities in his state.
He warned that the federal capital will be at huge risk if nothing is done immediately.
