The debate over what was responsible for Nigeria’s woeful performance at the just concluded Olympic games in Rio, Brazil has not been completed at any forum without an assessment of the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung.

Nigeria managed just a lone bronze medal in the event where some African countries including South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Cote D’Ivoire and Egypt, returned home with multiples of medals.

While many defended  Mr. Dalung with the fact that no country can reasonably prepare for the games in less than one year which is equivalent to the time the minister has been in office others saw in him a disaster waiting to happen.

Mr. Dalung’s critics will readily cite his widely reported rejection of the U-23 National Team when they were held back in the US after their training tour ahead of the games in Rio.

While calling for the sack of the minister, they say he has shown clear lack of direction and ideas in managing and developing sports in Nigeria.

Now, you can make your voice heard in the debate. Should Mr. Dalung be sacked?
