Nigeria’s representative in table tennis at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics has been knocked out of the tournament.
She becomes the first Nigerian to compete and the first to be defeated in the sports fiesta.

In table tennis, 46-year-old Funke Oshonaike lost to J.Lui of the United States of America 4-1.
J.Lui took the first, second and third sets – 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 while Oshonaike won the fourth 11-13.
The US player sealed it with 11-4 in the fifth set.
Despite the early defeat, the Nigerian player made history as the first African woman to play in seven Olympics.
She is also the first woman to join the exclusive ITTF ’Club of 7’ of players to have competed in any seven Olympic games.
