The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Willie Obiano as the Governor of Anambra state in the November 16, 2013 election.
The Apex Court said the appellants failed to establish the existence of various acts of non compliance they alleged.
Dr. Chris Ngige of the All Progressives Conference and Tony Nwoye of the Peoples Democratic Party had approached the Court seeking nullification of the election on the grounds that there were substantial non compliance with the constitution and the Electoral Act.
They also contended that Gov. Obiano engaged in multiple voter registration and lied on oath.
With this judgment, the coast wilal now be clear for the only governor on the platform of the shaky APGA to concentrate on governance without easy excuses.
