Unknown Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have attacked and killed a 62 year- old retired Police officer and six other members of his family in Sabon Layi of Barkin Ladi Local government Area of Plateau state.
Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local government area Emmanuel Loman while confirming the attack said it occurred on Sunday night where a family of seven was killed.
Some women of the locality had demonstrated the sporadic attacks in surrounding villages and blamed the men of the Special Task force for arresting some youths of the locality who were out to defend themselves.
Media Officer of the Special Task Force Captain IKedichi Iweha who could not confirm the killings however said men of the STF did not interfere with the protesting women but only arrested two youths of the locality who were found with AK 47 rifles.
