The All Progressives Grand Alliance has said that Igbos support for Pres. Goodluck Jonathan is not a function of “what will” but “what has” already gotten from him.
National Coordinator of Join Jonathan Journey, JJJ, Ben Obi was reacting to the comments by the founding Chairman of the party, Chekwas Okorie during the Igbo day celebration describing the adoption of Pres. Jonathan by the Igbo as act of cowardice and sycophancy.
Chief Obi said Pres. Jonathan has done so much for the people of the South
East in the last four years, and the only way to encourage him to do
more is to give him support.
He listed the second Niger Bridge, the federal roads in the zone, the
Enugu International Airport and the occupation of key ministries by
Igbos as reason for the adoption.
Chief Obi expressed assurance that mobilizing the people of Anambra State to
support Pres. Jonathan when the election comes will be an easy task due to the achievements of his administration in the state.
In a recent rally of the JJJ, the APGA adopted Pres. Jonathan as
their presidential candidate, and promised to aggressively pursue other positions, especially in the south east with the hope of capturing the zone.
