During an interview with BBC Pidgin, Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers state has disclosed that before he considers taking up any appointment from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he will first consult with his wife and friends.
He further stated that the president has not made any offer and never told him he will give him an appointment.
He also said that although he wants to rest after serving as a governor for eight years, he still considers himself not too big to serve his country.
“I will also assess myself if I’m prepared. I will never do what I’m not ready for,”
Governor Wike who is a PDP chieftain had stated that his meeting with President Tinubu on Friday was just a show of support after the inauguration and he has no intention of defecting to the All Progressive Congress.
